Titans Sports Club Code of Conduct

Titans Sports Club is dedicated to creating an environment that nurtures the enjoyment and enthusiasm of every player within our sport, through a safe and positive environment. Our goal is to empower our players to conduct themselves with a sense of personal integrity. We encourage behaviour that is based on the acceptance of rules, fairness, equality, respect for others and a sense of doing what is right at all times. We reject unethical behaviour, rule breaking, drug taking, violence and any other form of unsportsmanlike conduct that against the true spirit of Table Tennis.

For players

I agree to:

·         Always strive to show the best of myself in at all training/coaching sessions and events;

·         Always refrain from inappropriate conduct towards others which may include; but it not limited to; improper conduct that may be physical, verbal, written and/or emotional, whether this is in person or through use of social media etc.; and agree not to bring myself or Titans Sports Club into disrepute;

·         Not to smoke or to take drugs of any kind, or consume alcohol while I am competing or a representative of Titans Sports Club;

·         Report inappropriate behaviour or situations to members of the team;

·         Set a good example at all times in aspects of dress, punctuality, language, behaviour and respect of equipment and others, attending all required meetings and briefings;

·         Conduct myself in a manner that takes all reasonable measures to protect my own safety and the safety of others;

·         Obey the Rules of Table Tennis and the rules and regulations of the affiliated organisations that Titans Sports Club complies with; this includes Umgungundlovu Table Tennis Association, which is affiliated to the South African Table Tennis Board (SATTB).

 

My Equipment and other team members

I agree to:

·         Ensure both my equipment and attire is safe, well maintained and fit for purpose, in training and in competition;

·         Ensure that all my equipment and sport specific clothing complies with the competition/event rules and uniform guidelines;

·         Practice and participate fairly and be trustworthy, respecting other team members at all times and not behave in a manner which could be detrimental to their preparation or performance in any way; Respect the rights, dignity and worth of all participants regardless of age, gender, ability, race, cultural background or religious beliefs or sexual identity;

·         Behave with respect to others including coaches, support staff, venue staff, officials, other athletes, parents, team managers and spectators;

·         Respect the personal space of others, socialise in common and public areas.

Titans Sports Club recognises that to create a supportive atmosphere, which allows for players to participate and compete to the best of their abilities, it is important for athletes to know that while we have high expectations of their behaviour, that they can expect the same from us.
